MAF Sensor bad, or is there a fuse?

Thanks to this forum I was able to diagnose my problem as the MAF sensor. I disconnected it. by following the instructions on some posts here, cleaned it and put it back. Doesnt seem to work, so I disconnected it again.

Anyway, is there a fuse for this? Could a fuse have triggered my issue? Or do the MAF units actually just go bad?

I had to turn to self diagnosis because no Mechanic near me has any open time to look for another week (actually happy, it made me go lookjing to find the problem myself, saving a couple hundred bucks in shop fees..! If its a bad sensor, ill just change it myself, if its a fuse in a place I can get to, ill look there.

    its a 2016 x3 35i

    thanks in advance,
    Wes in Orlando

If it's a bad sensor; then it's bad. There's no fuse. It all comes from the ECU. Before buying a new MAF, how did you diagnose things? Did you actually read codes or are you going by symptoms only?

I went by symptoms, and then physically disconnected it, and the car runs and idels fine, I took it out, cleaned it, put it back in and the problem returned.

so its disconnected now and im trying not to drive it much until new one comes in. if I keep it disconnected I can run the car at idle fine, if I put it on, it stalls out in a few seconds. I dont have a device to read codes... but I am going to buy one now.... Problem, is getting the sensor, everyone seems to have them backordered.....

    I've got the Foxwell NT530 https://www.foxwelltech.us/product-detail-524.html

Besides basic OBD2 diagnostics you can load manufacturer specific modules. Right now I have BMW and VW AG (VAG).
