What is this Metal module connected to Fuel Filter. It connected with a short piece of gas line and clamps. It right after the fuel leaves the filter. This must be a filter itself. There are no wires from it. So not a sending unit of some kind. I can't upload a pic!
It's the Machine in Me!
Done a search. It is a Fuel Damper (Regulator). Do these clog preventing any fuel to the motor?
This is on a 1988 M3
Sorry, late response. We're re-working a Walbro single pump set up on my 88 M3 atm.
Being in the fuel feed, if somehow it became blocked the flow would be limited.
From what I know of the fuel delivery system of this car, you would have much greater issues if the damper became clogged.
