BMW Differential Pinion Gear Markings (188mm)

I'd like to know for sure what the markings are on BMW pinion gears, specifically the medium case diff pinions. I will speculate here but please reply if you know for sure.

Here's one, a 3.23

1) There's an M. No idea what this is.
2) There's a G. No idea what this is.
3) There's "265". I speculate that this is the ideal offset from 3mm shim for setting proper pinion depth. I speculate they are in micrometre, so 265 is +0.265mm? Can anyone confirm?

In this case it is calling for a 3.265mm shim?

Here another one, a 2.93

1) There's an M. No idea what this is.
2) There's a P (i think). No idea what this is.
3) There's "915". so +0.915mm?
4) There's "-1". I speculate this is the coarse offset for the 2.93 gearset, so -1mm.

In this case it is calling for a 2.915mm shim (3mm + 0.915mm - 1mm)?
