The way I learned it the arrows point to the flanges…

I can see how that orientation can make a difference with the way that the flex disk (refuse to learn the sp) is designed.

The bolts make less sense to me but I don’t see how it would hurt anything to follow.

The part about tightening from the flange side seems logical also.
