Correct, actual carbon fabric skinned over OE parts. I think they're done under vacuum while the resin cures. Then they're clear coated and polished to a high shine. I broke down and bought all new panels to do the work at the time (the door hockey sticks were actually brand new beige, because they were far cheaper), and kept the poorly repainted originals with the hopes that'd I'd repaint them better someday. I just bought a can of SEM satin black that I was going to experiment on an Autometer gauge pod with, as its shiny plastic doesn't match the A-pillar. If it matches, I'll take a shot at the old panels and tuck them away for safe keeping.
