I figured someone could be interested in this; I don't have the time to tinker anymore so I'm getting rid of my E34 with S50B30US transplant. It runs but I wouldn't advocate driving it because of transmission/suspension issues. I'm located in Northern Virginia and I'm asking $1500. I've put it on the usual auction site, but I'll take that down if there's interest here.
More details:
It's a 1990 E34 that was originally a 525i; previous owner replaced engine with 1995 M3 S50B30US (engine casting number in the pictures for reference). This would be perfect donor car: remove S50 engine, flywheel, and 18" style 82 wheels for another project car. The clutch and UUC lightweight flywheel are fairly new in terms of mileage. The flywheel was replaced with a UUC Stage 2 lightweight aluminum flywheel during a clutch replacement some years ago. It was shipped across the country (CA to FL) after I left active duty - I moved to DC and barely drove it after buying an X3.
Problems:
Interior is falling apart including door and dash panels. The engine wiring harness was redone as part of the engine swap from M20 to S50; it works but does not appear to be the best job (I didn't perform the engine swap). The transmission has synchro issues between first and second gear and there are numerous suspension issues. It seems to run well and starts right up - though with the customary VANOS rattle.
Due to suspension issues, I do not consider the vehicle road-worthy however, it can be driven for the purpose of loading on trailer. It runs and otherwise is operable (video of car running available upon request). The vehicle was last registered and titled in Florida. Buyer would be responsible for coordinating pick-up or shipment of entire vehicle. I can facilitate as necessary, of course.
