Advice on buying used 2011-13 528 or 535 xdrive?

Hello. I am new here and was hoping the nice forum experts could help me learn.

I have never owned a BMW and I am interested in hopefully buying a used 2011-14 528 or possibly 535 Xdrive.

I have the following questions:

1. Can I protect myself from buying a 528 with a timing chain guide issue (class action lawsuit)? If so, how can I do this? 3rd party warranty? I think BMW has only extended this warranty coverage to 70,000 miles, correct?

2. Apart from the guide issue, how long should the timing chain last? Should it last the life of the vehicle? What is the typical life of a 528 in miles?

3. Should I avoid the 528 due to the timing chain guide issue and go for a 535?

4. Are there other known major issues with the 528 or 535 that I should be aware of?

5. Am I asking for problems looking at buying a 528/535 with 100,000 miles plus? How much extra money should I factor spending for a likely problem?

I opted for the 535i (2013). Leather interior & 6cyl engine. My car has about 110K miles & no major issues.
