My clutch pedal seems really low. It doesn’t seem to engage until the pedal is about 25% depressed as well. Traffic is causing my leg to get a work out. All of my other M/T cars have a sweet spot at the bottom of the pedal travel where it doesn’t take any pressure to keep it there. This car takes constant work to keep the clutch disengaged.
Pretty experienced with manual transmissions. Please try to avoid the temptation to call my left leg weak. Currently own a 2016 GT350, 01 Ranger, 66 F100, 65 Mustang, and used to have a 14 Fusion all with manuals. Never had this issue before.
Will it bleed out? Does it need a new master or slave? Is that just the way these clutches are?
You seem to have a nice garage.
Let me answer your questions, with the mention I have a 2011 550 with 6Speed manual too, and been through a clutch change with it. I guess we are the only ones on this f10 subforum with a car like this.
>>It doesn’t seem to engage until the pedal is about 25% depressed
I would say my car is the same
>> Traffic is causing my leg to get a work out
No, my clutch is smooth and soft
>>bottom of the pedal travel where it doesn’t take any pressure to keep it ther
I assume you meant it takes little effort to keep the clutch pedal on the floor. My clutch pedal needs little effort to be kept down,
>>Will it bleed out? Does it need a new master or slave? Is that just the way these clutches are?
yes, you can bleed it if you want to. But before you start what do you know about the (service) history of the car?
I assume you just bought it, and the previous owner did not share many details.
Did they do any clutch service? this question is very important, because - from my own experience - service parts are different even if they have same BMW part number. And led to different feel
