For Sale: 2001 BMW 540i in rare Alpine White over black leather with 18" M Pars. Automatic (gasp!) with 123k miles.

Comes with a folder full of receipts from maintenance to larger repairs. Yes, the guides and chain have been done. No vanos noises. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Interior and exterior are a 9 with little to no issues with paint, rips etc. Vehicle has 121k on it, but you'll be amazed when you see it in person as it's condition belies it's mileage. I can almost guarantee that you will not find another one cleaner than this one. Everything works as it should with no issues. It stays primarily in my garage covered when it's not being driven. I think I put maybe 500 miles on it last year and that's the reason I'm selling it. I'd planned on doing a six-speed swap and keeping it, but it runs and shifts so well that I decided to not to. That said, it's time to let another person enjoy it rather that letting it sit.

It is mostly stock with only tasteful upgrades.

The E39 chassis is largely agreed upon by all BMW enthusiasts as the best 5'r ever made. It drives amazingly well and with the rear sway bar / springs combination it handles even better.

I'm pretty firm on the price given the rarity of this color combo and overall condition. I might entertain reasonable offers. No trades.
