    mounting sub box in trunk

I have seen a few of you post pictures of your mounted sub boxes, what I did not pay attention to was exactly how you mounted the. The floor of my trunk area appears to be roughly 1/8 inch melamine or some other wood composite material. It is not thick enough to support screws.

So the question is - did you all attach to this flooring materials or some other way?

I used the hold down tethers on each side of the trunk to hold my box down.

I removed the back seat, cut out the panel that would typically be out if you had the ski pass thru option, mounted L-brackets to the sub box and bolted through that rear deck panel. The sub fires through the newly created hole where the arm rest is. From the interior, hot glued black fabric over the hole so it’s not noticeable with the arm rest down, reinstalled the seat. Base “inside” my cabin, minimal room taken from the trunk.

I have an MTX BGE12 subwoofer in my trunk. It's not mounted to anything. I have a Weathertech trunk liner and have the sub sitting in the left corner pushed up against the back seat. The sub is secured in place with a wooden board that is velcroed to the trunk liner. Had it that way since the sub was first installed and it's never moved out of place.
