Vinyl wrap question

I'm getting some of the chrome on my 2022 X3 vinyl wrapped black. The company doing it says that they need to use a primer on the chrome because chrome isn't porous.

I've seen videos online where no primer is used on chrome. Has anyone heard of doing this before? Does it need to be primed?

I would just clean the surface using alcohol or water+detergent.

If you want it to last it NEEDS to be primed.

You have to primed it without that it will be bad connections betwen layers.
