E89 Z4 Center Console stuck closed and won't open. Common issue?

Wondering if this is a common issue. Trying to open up the center console

But it seems to be stuck. It will only open about 20 degrees to get your fingers in there, but not a full 90 degree open like usual. I managed to slide open the rear covering but still no luck in finding what could be causing it to be stuck.

Any ideas?
