Hi!
I have a 2012 535i xdrive M3 Sport package
The tires are all 245/40R19.
My wife has moved it into the street a few times when the kids are playing hockey in the driveway. Every time she did, she rubbed the curb and all 4 rims have considerable road rash.
My question: Is it better to get the rims refinished OR get another set of rims?
I will probably trade this car in next year so I don't want to spend a lot of money.
I've been looking online and made the mistake of inquiring about rims from a website. I then received 9 phone calls from different area codes from people with "deals" on rims.
I received a quote from a local company to refurbish them for $1100
Any advice would be appreciated!
Refinish if you’re selling the car.
Any U-pull wrecking yards around? I can find a set of your vintage original 5 Series rims for $200 or less.

Condition of used rims is always a challenge, take offs are another story but unlikely to find a set for an older vehicle. There are companies which do work for high end dealerships which can repair curb damage on rims for much less than refinishing the full rim. Ask around and see what you find. Do get them repaired before you sell it.
