(I purchased it for my 99 750 throwing an E-Kat codes when I saw a good price, but never got around to installing it before retiring her as my parts car. My replacement car is a pre-facelift 750 and doesn't have E-Cats or a 2nd battery, so no need for the related parts). I know the E-Kat Module and Batt Iso Switch are like hen's teeth to find. Lemme know if I can help. I would be pretty fair with you.

Oh that would be awesome. I won’t hoard the ekat module since I have a new one, and others are interested, but I would be interested in the battery isolation switch if you still have it. I’ll PM ya …

I, too, am quite curious to find out what you think of the nagengast refurb. Have you had a chance to get them in and drive it?

Got your PM and responded (twice, and neither showed up on sent messages - I'm not very good with the PM stuff)

Nope- work and other projects have been in the way thus far. They are next on the list though!

Will defo report back when I do. The current units are more than shot. The plan is also to do the rear accumulators, which i still need to order, as well as all the rear control arms which have also been sitting in a box for a few months.

A777 - did you save the broken ekat module?

    - - - Updated - - -

PM’s - make sure you hit the box to send yourself a copy. It’s a stupid way to do it.

Was able to install the front struts from Nagengast yesterday afternoon.

Remarkably better ride quality. The small rattles I was experiencing are gone and overall the car is WAY more composed. I’ll save my full review for when I have re-freshed the back end, but highly recommended so far.

Picked up and installed this guy. Much better than a phone digging into your arm.

    Thanks!

Yeah black or the hideous hideous ‘sand’ right?

Commented on your thread. Got to be looking regularly, and be ready to pounce! Took me about a year, but finally finally found one.

These things are so hit or miss tho. You can go months/years without seeing the part you need, and the week later there are like 50 of em on ebay.

Finally got a majority of the remaining parts for the rear end rebuild!

New bombs, hoses, mounts, bolts, nuts… etc etc.

    Likely start this weekend.

Started to pull apart the rear today. Began with a disassembly of the rear parcel shelf. Ended up ripping everything out including the aft portion with the shade.

The woofers are blown, but not as bad as I was expecting for a CA car.

Will likely order some new ones so I don’t have to rip everything apart again. All the plastics are cringey brittle.

Speaking of ‘while your in there’ i might as well rip out the headliner to have it recovered as well. With the c-pillars already out, it can be THAT much more work, can it?

Got the rear up on jack stands and started disassembling the left rear.

Disconnected the strut and got that out. Also got the accumulator on this side out.

The membrane passed the zip-tie test and seems to be intact!

The rear wheel speed sensor connector disintegrated so I’ll need to order a new one of those. More to come.

Hah there’s always something… how much of a PITA was it to get the rear shelf out? I’m debating on pulling the rear speaker deck and sunshade portion out when I attempt to pull the headliner in the next few days. Given they both are still in great shape, I’m thinking it will still look fine with the grey suede c pillars that will flank it and if it doesn’t I can always pull them and have them covered separately.

WRT -> spd sensor connector. Same, that always happens.

    WRT speakers, two possibilities:

    1) Cut out the surrounds with tiny scissors and glue on new surrounds

    or

    2) Replace the speakers(drivers) entirely.

I found the following through an online surplus seller (see pic) I put these speakers in series with a little rewire-ing. and didn't connect the second feed from the amplifier.

Hrm. I’d say it was a 6 out of 10? If you have the standard non adjustable back seat, its likely a 4 out of 10. The complexities of now the adjustable seats are integrated are fiddly. Plus, everything back there is likely baked and will explode the second you look at it, so the nervous factor can be high.

Although the 750 doesn’t require the back seats to com out for the parcel shelf, it does give you a bit more room. And I dropped some stuff down the back so to recover I had to pull the seats anyways.

Looking good and looking forward to the results and the feeling of the Nagengast results. Curious if they are similar to mine.

I hate pulling the rear deck out. Its such a pia. I ordered new rear shocks just because I had everything out. Once I fix my speakers and replace the headliner, I don't want to touch that thing again for a longggggg time!

Thanks! Yeah the more room the better IMHO.

I’m also looking forward to having the rears back in. Will definitely report back here with my thoughts.
