Hi everyone,
I am currently looking into upgrading my intake to an AFE Cold Air Intake for the N55 motor. (I own a 2014 740Li xDrive)
On AFE's website (https://afepower.com/afe-power-54-82...-intake-system) , they claim that you can gain 32 horsepower and 60 pounds of torque. I believe that this is complete BS and that the most you might get is about 5 HP... 10 max.
I am mainly getting it for the sound.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Do you really get that much extra power or is that just a marketing strategy to get consumers to buy their product? For those who do in fact have a N55 with an AFE cold air intake, how does it sound and feel?
Any feedback is highly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Chris
Did you ever install the CAI? How did it feel on the butt-dyno?
Update: I just installed the cold air intake on my F01 740Li and I can definitely feel the increase in acceleration right away. The difference is really crazy since the car is so big and heavy. I would highly recommend anyone with an N55 get this intake. On a brief side note I also noticed, that it now takes a longer time to get up to operating temp as well which is always a good sign (I'm located in NYC).
