I have a 2007 bmw 525xi with 0306 code for 6 cylinder misfire replaced plug and coil no change. moved coil to different cylinder no change. removed fuel rail cleaned all injectors no change. checked compression in all cylinders all 160 to 180. I can remove the coil wires on cylinders 1,5,6 and motor runs same. remove coil wire 2 or 3 or 4 and the car stalls. fuel pressure at 70. what next
While you had the fuel injectors out , you should have checked for spray pattern of them all and compare . You will need to do this to confirm. .
Next on the list is confirming are all the coils sparking the plugs .
Doing these two tests will confirm and then you can make a decision to what path you will take next .
Either investigate the coil wiring or the injectors harness .
Also I forgot , if you haven’t had the valve cover off yet , if the other tests are all ok , then you’ll need to check the valve train is functioning correctly .
