M3 CS 2018 - 15k
M4 CS 2020 - 2k + Ceramic brake
Turning 50 soon and Joining the BMW family tomorrow. Trading Macan Turbo for either M4 CS or M3 CS and looking for feedback from better informed parties.
My choices are:
- Option 1: 2018 M3 CS, 15k, Black sapphire, titanium exhaust
- Option 2: 2020 M4 CS, 2.1 k, Melbourne red, Ceramic brake
- Price is exact same
I am leaning toward the M3:
- Looks more appealing
- Lower production number
- Likely to retain value longer
- Long term cost for ceramic
- Would still enjoy for track days 3-6 times a year
Things that are giving me pause:
- Though both new cars, the M4 is clearly a newer and lower mileage car - The owner is local and just changes M cars yearly - moved to a M5 CS.
- Hearing rumors of another G90 M3 CS soon.
- The Ceramic brakes would be awesome for the track days
Questions to the community:
- Any other major factors I am not thinking about?
- Am I right that the M3 CS might not be that exclusive in a few years?
- Am I being too cautious about Ceramic brakes?
