E36 1995 M3 Project Car Mulberry Grey + TC Kline, Koni, Turner, Conforti, Dinan, lots of extra parts
I am putting up for sale a chassis, parts, and an abundance of memories accumulated over years of an exorbitantly expensive BMW addiction. Some of you may remember my account from over a decade ago when I was more active in this community, and later with the now defunct community of E36-tech.com. We were a wild bunch and I regret not being able to grow that site and what we offered into something such as this place. Yet we had lots of fun in the process, much of mine centered around the vehicle I am offering for sale. This M3 was the testbed for every whacky and ridiculous idea that me and many others had in while wading through our Bimmer addiction, and like all bad habits, you eventually have to grow up and walk away.
As the car sits:
First off, THIS CAR HAS A BLOWN ENGINE. At the very least, the head is cracked and needs to be replaced. The car has sat immobile for approximately 8 years, so the best solution would likely be to pull the engine and perform a bottom up rebuild. It did not pass smog at the time it was registered as non-operational. As it is OBD1, you cannot just run an o2 simulator to make it pass, it will need to pass legitimately, unless
you have "a guy".
You will need a flatbed to move the car as it sits. I have AAA Platinum coverage, and will include a free tow of up to 150 miles from the cars location in zip 91320. The car is registered as non-op.
This M3 was a labor and obsession of love for several years until life caught up and I had to give up. The car is Cosmos Black, and it is faded on the roof and trunk.
I have a bankers box literally FULL of service records and parts orders showing everything that was done and installed to this car over several years of ownership. There was always an effort to make mods as clean and as tastefully done as possible within budget constraints. You will find that nearly every bolt, washer, and hose clamp was replaced over time with new OEM parts.
There are several particularly unique mods that were done to this M3. For one, the VANOS was rebuilt using an early prototype of the Besian Systems rebuild kit back in 2007. I had the opportunity to meet the owner of the company and discuss the VANOS rebuild kit they were developing. They were kind enough to send me a sample of the first production runs to test on my car, in exchange for a write-up and review which I had posted on e36-tech.com.
License Plate reads E36 TECH. I will allow transfer of the plates if requested, otherwise Id like to keep them for sentimental value.
I have a complete secondary interior for this car, front and rear seats, door panels, including EXTREMELY RARE mulberry grey vader seats.
Fuel tank was replaced as well as the rear subframe, the result of some cretin failing to steal my rims long ago. Rear subframe has been reinforced with welded plates at swaybar and subframe mounts, then painted baby blue to match the Turner Motorsports sways and control arms.
As this was one of the uncommon luxury package M3s, it includes non-vader sport seats in the rare mulberry grey leather and a ZF A5S-310Z 5 speed A/T. I had purchased a ZF 5 speed manual transmission to swap in, though ended up reselling it as it became apparent that I would not be getting this car back on the road anytime soon. You can swap in any 5 or 6 speed M/T sourced from an E36 or E46 as you so desire.
The stereo system is non-operational. I had attempted to place larger 5.25 midrange drivers in the door panels, part of a 3 way MB Quart component system, which in hindsight was not a great idea. The door panels have been cut and modified to accommodate them. I ending up pulling much of the audio system later on, including the amp and head unit. Larger gauged aftermarket wiring does remain throughout the vehicle that can be repurposed.

Additionally:
As this is an OBD1 car, it uses the old 30-pin round plug for its diagnostics interface. I have a Snap-on MT2500 scan tool I used exclusively for this. We can discuss a separate deal for the scan equipment if it is needed.
To prospective buyers:
THIS CAR FORCED ME TO BE A BETTER MECHANIC. I can not emphasize enough how much knowledge I owe this M3 for requiring me to gain to make it perform in the way that I wanted, its the best education I could have ever asked for. While its understood that I can not recoup anywhere near my investment, I would be satisfied for this car to go into the hands of a young person looking for a project car that with a rebuilt engine, can be track ready on the weekends, and a daily driver during the week.
As stated, I will include a flatbed tow with purchase of up to 150 miles from my location.
Price will start high due to the included mods, if you can show to me that you will be making this into a functional drivable car, and not stripping it for parts, I will be more receptive to lower offers, and also make myself available for any consultation as needed.
Make me a offer. The buyer is more important to me than the sale price, fell free to make me an offer if interested.
There is a small sampling of photos of my time with this M3 in the linked album. If there is anything else you might want to see, please let me know.
