I'm coming back into the E36 world and last weekend I bought a 1995 M3 from Holland, imported to the states It has power rear vent windows and I'm not sure if its factory (or if this was even a factory option) or if its one of the DIY retrofits that I'm seeing up. At the moment both windows are not working (one is open and I live in Florida so the repair is kinda urgent) When I bought the car on Saturday the drivers side worked and the passenger did not. While looking at the switches the drivers side stopped working Does anyone know if there was such a thing as a factory option for this? If so, what do I need to check out? I've replaced the switches in the center console and checked out the ZKE module today. It looked good, but I couldn't actually figure out in my research if the ZKE controlled the relays or if it was the comfort relay under the drivers side. . I tried to find a fuse layout, but 1. I have heard rumors that the fuse layout for Euro cars is different 2. The DIY shows fuse 15, but another source showed something like instrument cluster or something for fuse 15.
I think my next action will be to check every fuse under the hood (Unless one of you guys is a miracle worker and can pull the exact fuse to check) and after that, its pull the whole rear end apart and try to get to the motors and at least close it, or replace a motor.
All these questions could be solved by using a electrical wiring schematic.

There appears to be one fuse and two relays on the harnesses associated with the rear vent kit.
One is the blue DRM4 relay which operates off the switches. This relay is basically two stacked relays inside.
The other is a brown power relay which I believe mounts in the engine bay fuse box. There is a Red wire with Blue stripe that appears to snap into one of the fuse positions. I'm not positive where all of this goes yet as I have yet to install it.

The hole vent windows system is powered through the comfort relay that gets its power from fuse F13 (5A, battery power, solid red).
Then this relay is directly connected and also through the switches to the 'double' relay going to the motors.
You could use 2x front window switch and recode the ZKE so you have one-touch up/down for the rears as well.*
* the workings are different from the cabrio/sedan rear windows that don't go directly through the comfort relay as the rear vents do, so maybe the auto up/down doesn't fly.
Then again, you could also mimic the cabrio/saloon rear windows setyp by using the relay module and just wire everything in cabrio/sedan style. Then the rear one-touch up/down will work 100%.
