Hello I am new to this forum and need a little help with a BMW M57 with 6hp26 conversion into a LandCruiser.
I have three issues I can't work out first I can't select manual mode on the transmission if I disconnect and reconnect the battery the indicator light will illuminate to show I'm in manual as soon as I turn the key on and start the engine the light goes out and I can't select manual range I don't have any fault codes any suggestions please also when I accelerate to kickdown the engine will rev out to 4000 revs and the transmission won't up change any help would be appreciated

The first step in diagnosing a problem is to scan the transmission computer (EGS in BMWspeak) for codes.
I have scaned transmission codes I have a code for abs communication and transfer case both I don't have installed in the conversion the transmission was working perfect in the donor car
Ya, this discussion has been moved to this resource.

I am lost I don't know what IP is and I don't know how to continue with this post
You are there. You are continuing with your thread.
All the systems of modern cars are interconnected. Your transmission computer is looking for information from the ABS system it is married to: it needs wheel speed information, and likely also the data from the transfer case module. Without the needed information, the system will likely remain in limp-home mode.
Engine swaps are not the same as they used to be. You'll need to find a BMW computer genius to TRY to reprogram the DDE and EGS to work correctly without the data from the other modules. I don't imagine that's going to be easy, perhaps not possible. When the engine computer realizes there's no expected inputs from the emissions systems, it may quit altogether too.
