would supercharging my 530i make it faster than a 540i?

there's this nice kit for 4k and it brings the hp up around 330 hp for my 530i i was wondering if anybody has experience with this and if it would make my car faster then a 540i, i really don't like the idea of buying a 540i that i have to do timing chain guides on

Is the supercharger kit intercooled? Do you live in a hot area? Would you consider instead selling and putting the money towards an E60 535i or E90 335i that is already forced induction and easily and cheaply tuned at add 20% more power? Those cars do require more complex maintenance than your E39 530i, though.

Centrifugal or twinscrew for the supercharger? I have a 525it with an ESS TS. I'm swapping in an E46 zhp/6 spd and still need to upgrade to the laminova intercooler. The TS is mostly all-in by 1800-2000 rpm, where a centrifugal builds boost dependant on rpm. I've never compared the V8 E39 with a twinscrew I6.
I think ESS might still offer the TS kit.
