n62b48- 2A90 - Exhaust camshaft tooth offset to crankshaft

    Hi guys,

I received the car from my girlfriend with following engine error. The car before the error was running fine and there was not any fresh activity with the engine itself.

    I already tried:
    1. Clean the solenoids + switch the solenoid between the intake and exhaust.
    2. Changed the exhaust camshaft sensors between bank1 and bank2
    3. Tried to disconnect the exhaust camshaft sensor but I got different errors. This test was if the wires are fine.
    4. I checked the timming and its fine.

The value camshaft position was not changing before I removed the valve cover its still 120° . But this value is dynamic on bank2 + bank 1 inlet. Its changing between 119,x to 120. But on bank 1 outlet the value is stable120°

So I am not sure if the vanos unit is not working properly or there is any issue and the sensor dont know the position of camshaft and cannot addapt the vanos unit properly. Thats make a sense for me why the value is not changing and its still 120°

Please any help is appreciated or any experiences with following issue.

    Hi guys,

I finally solved the issue today. I tried to reinstall the valve cover again and tight the screws again and the error is gone and the engine working fine now ..

I'm having the exact same issue that you had with your car. What did you do differently when installing the valve cover? Also did you remove and reinstall both of them?

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Hopefully I can get the same results because my car has been sitting for over a month now.
