Hi all,
trying to figure out why my previously running s50 no longer works. Ive done the below already.
1. It has spark, Fuel pump primes and continues to run if starter is turning for long enough.
2. Crank sensor is within spec.
3. Ive disconnected the coils and opened the itbs to see if fuel was spraying whilst cranking & nothing. I checked the feed line that runs from the filter to the rail & it seemed easily compressible compared to that of the rubber one from the pump to the hard line.
4. I disconnected the rubber feed line from the filter to the rail to make sure fuel was getting past the filter, which it was.
5. I used inpa to activate all injectors. all worked
6. Ive ordered an inline fuel pressure tester to make sure its building/holding propper pressure.
7. The injectors were cleaned just previously.
8. I disconnected the return hardline and primed the pump a few times & no fuel came out.
Is it possible for a block to be between just after the filter and the injector?
Is there something electrical stopping this?
Also am i able to replace the oem rubber feed & return lines with standard high pressure rubber ones; ie do where the feed & return lines connect to the rail/FPR are they the same nipple on the under-car fuel hardlines?
Any insight or more possible tests would be greatly appreciated. cheers
Update, it was the hose from the top of the sender unit to the pump. That blew and caused no pressure, but held together enough that fuel was getting to the filter.
