Also, the dealer claims no VIN stickers on body panels as it wasn’t required for the Euro models, only for US NHTS requirements. Is there any truth to that?
the other issue for those of us that live in California is getting a euro spec smogged and registered in the state. I wonder if it's possible? Not that an S54 swap is easy.

Is there a particular broker that people us for these?
I think importing a special model would make sense. I'd love to have a GT International. Also the few ACS cars, and of course, not really what the OP is talking about any B8 would be wicked cool.

I'd be very carefull with GT's.
Two weeks ago a 'known' youngtimer dealer had one for sale for €65.000 , which with Dollar/Euro now 1=1 $65,000. It was sold in consignment and sold as 'mint'.
Well thanks to internet and people keeping records of advertisments throughout the years, it was quickly uncovered to be an ex tracked, caged car, which had a big front end repair.
Sure it was all fixed, but still. Not the mint and loved car it was advertized as. When the selling party was made aware of this, he was quite shocked and rightfully so. Long story short: he gave the car back the owner.
Always do your due diligence.
