driver side door lock issue

Driver side door lock cannot be locked but can be unlocked by both key and central controller. All other doors work fine. When lock action is performed, sound of solenoid can be heard inside driver side door. But the knob does not go down and door is not locked. However, it can be unlocked with key and central controller. Also noticed that it can be locked with the "lock if no door is open" if no door is opened in a certain time after open button is pushed.
Replaced driver side lock actuator module (easy DIY), symptom remains same. Need expert's help on the potential cause.

Sounds like the problem is more a linkage problem inside the door. You'll have to take the interior door panel off. Inspect all the linkage parts. If you don't fell qualified, take the car to a good body shop. They work on crashed doors all the time and know how to fix that type of problem. You can hear the solenoid, so that part of the system is working. Enjoy your Z, the weather is now top down.
