Got a 2013 X5.... Why does the brake light come and the display say that the minimum thickness was detected when the brake pads look like new? The service notification is red for the front brakes so I assume it is referring to the front brakes on the screen display when it alarms about the minimum thickness.
A couple of months ago I changed the rear brakes when the I got the alarm and the service light hit....I just cleaned up the sensor and reused it. I was able to clear that service alarm.
It does not appear that this service item will reset either???
Do I just need a new sensor for the front?
Did you check the sensor? Is it there and mounted on the brake pad correctly? Is the wiring ok?
Lime Rock Park... the most fun you can have in a mile and a half.
The sensor activates you can’t reuse it replace it
