How to remove adhesive residue from alloy wheels?

Hi guys, on all 4 of my wheels is some residue from tape being there. What is the best way to get rid of that? I didn't want to use Goo Gone because I heard it can damage the finish of the wheels.

I'm seeing many people who had issues with Goof off similar to goo gone where it removes the finish on the wheels

WD40. Just clean your wheels after using it.

This works very well at removing both the residue from wheel weights and tape track guy put over weights.

Just got done with a used wheel - purchase and recondition - had the same stick-on wheel weight problem - and have a solution that works very well.

First - lift them off by inserting a painter's pallet knife underneath - one of my favorite tools for so many things - very thin, rounded, flexible spring steel.

Its a 32 oz spray bottle of a product called "RAPID REMOVER" ADHESIVE REMOVER from www.rapidtac.com - cost about $30 for the bottle.
It goes a LONG way - takes very little per application, and the bottle is very easy to squirt just enough in a small spot.
Have no idea where you can find it, except direct, but I got it from my favorite local automotive paint store - Space Age Paints in Chandler AZ.
It's limonene based - not unpleasant smelling at all.
This stuff is what Goo Gone should have been, but they cheaped out & rely on brand recognition.

You squirt a little on, wait 1 minute, scrape off the softened goo with a plastic razor, then repeat & rub clean with a rag.
