Long post sorry
Recently picked up an m140i auto. All is well but on the drive home, I noted that the car drifts slightly to the left (gentle) on the motorway. It does do the same on straight roads. I had 4 wheel alignment done at what seems to be the best place in the area. The guy rang me and said he can do the alignment but the numbers don’t seem to look like they’ll fix my problem.
He’s done the alignment and he swapped the wheels around on the front. Car still pulling to the left slightly if hands leave the wheel.
I tested my friends m140 which doesn’t do this.
The car does have an aftermarket steering wheel from a reputable company and it was fitted by them. From what I read, there’s an alignment pin which prevents the steering wheel from being fitted incorrectly.
I can’t hear any odd crashing sounds or clunks rattles etc over bumps, suspension ‘feels’ normal. Not running spacers or aftermarket suspension. No pulling on breaking.
I’d say the steering wheel seems to have a very slight tendency to sit just off centre (to the left) but it’s really subtle. If I go round a corner I’d say it looks to get 98% of the way back to centre.
It’s pretty subtle but I’d rather the car be perfect than almost there! Others don’t really notice this when driving. My friend with the m140 reckons he would not have noticed if I didn’t point it out.
My questions are
What is likely cause if this and where do I go from here?
Is there any point changing the tyres (they’re 5 year old but have decent tread - pilot super sports) since the wheels have been swapped and issue persists?
Could the steering wheel have been refitted incorrectly? Like is this physically possible?
Thanks!

I doubt that the aftermarket steering wheel has anything to do with the car pulling to the left. I’m wondering if the car has been in a serious accident (or shunt as you Brits like to say). I’d check the website for the British equivalent of our BMW Car Club of America to get recommendations for an alignment shop that has experience in aligning bimmers (or beemers as you Brits call them). Also, take a picture of the print out from the alignment shop and post it on a picture share in website. Then copy the link into your response. You have to have 10 or do posts before you can upload a picture on this website.
