Hello, I would like to run 225/45/17 tires on the stock staggered contours (7.5/8.5) Will this work or should I just find 2 more 8.5 contours so the wheels are square as well? Thanks.
You can put 225/45x17s onto an 8.5 inch wheel, but why? Just get a 245/40 for the rear and be done. Front and rear will be about 4.m millimeters different, no big deal.
I ran for years with 235 45 17 square on the stock staggered contours. They were fantastic. I prefer square too because I don't need a babysitter to prevent me from overseeing. (the only reason the US version was staggered)
I changed to ACS wheels eventually and run 235 40 18 now but in the 7 years I ran the contours for summer I had zero issues.
I might suggest that 225 is a bit narrow if you make any extra power or like to corner aggressively LOL but I definitely agree with staying square.
Same reason for EU version. The 3.0 was a bit too twitchy.
