The Check Control warning light appeared on the instrument cluster of my e89. Carly identified the problem was with the Footwell Module, Fault Code 009CD4 - Distrubed communication with driver's side seat belt handover. Unfortunately, Carly has been unable to clear the fault.
Replacing and recoding the footwell module will be a relatively expensive repair. I'm wondering if there are any other things that could cause the fault code that I should check before committing to replacing the footwell module?

Seat belts are part of the srs system and the may not clear because is active fault interesting the frm is handling the srs system
I installed a new battery, the warning light turned off and when I scan with Carly, the fault code has disappeared.
This proves that a bad battery will trigger all sorts of false fault codes. This was true on my E36, and my wifes E93. Everything worked after a new battery install.
