E39 540i power steering problem

Hey guys I’m just wondering if anyone of you guys experience this on your cars, the problem is when I went to go park I was in stop motion turning left to park witch I turn to hard or something then I heard a pop noise witch my wheel start to get heavy and my ps pump start to whine and then I thought I blow the pressure hose so I toke all my power steering line out and checking everything and all I could say was there was no problem I didn’t see any damage on the hose or the bolt but just to make sure I boughht the line,gasket and bolt then I put back together and I still have the same issues it leaking from the bottom of the pressure hose so my guess I think i messed up the thread in steering box when I turn or something else still new to the bmw car but want to learn about these cars

Is the steering still heavy? You may have damaged the pump. Does it make noise with the engine idling?

Bad idea to crank the steering wheel to the stop; it puts too much stress on the pump.
