Oil Filter Housing gasket advice.

Getting a little oil on the oil filter housing just below the top and seeing some underneath. This is a 2007.

I have done 3-4 gaskets on e46 and x-5 but no a z-4.
Looked at a few youtubes. Biggest concern to me is oil cooler gasket that requires opening the cooling system. Biggest issue I have had with BMw is air getting into cooling system and purging.

Any general or specific advice on doing this job shade tree style would be helpful.

Go change the oil filter housing gasket. It’s not going to cause an issue with anything else I did my Z4 and it’s a relatively simple job.

Got it, but shouldn’t I do the oil cooker gasket as a “might as well as?”

Up to you what you want to do... just read up on the “how” to do videos and in the TIS for torques etc.
