I know i’m an idiot but I need to figure out where to go from here. Last week I pulled the piezo beeper off the back of the gauge cluster. I was careful not to damage anything, yet my fuel gauge hasn’t worked since. The problem i’m having is that whenever i turn the key to accessories it jumps to about 3/4 full and stays there. The needle moves freely and it obviously has power. I checked both senders with a multimeter and they both worked fine, I think the range was like 65 ohms to something else i don’t remember. Is there a pin out for the gauge cluster plug or anyone who may know what happened? I’ll probably pick up a cheap fuel gauge from oreilly to use temporarily before throwing money at a fuel gauge. Thanks!
Curious why you pulled the beeper?
Check all the connections to the cluster and reseat with some contact enhancer.
Worst is, you may have fried something, electronics are sensitive.
Is a generic fuel gauge going to even work?
