    Considering M3 - year differences?

    Hello,

    Long time member... but have drifted away from cars recently. Life, kids, job, blah...

    I am looking at buying a 2014-2018 M3. I was hoping to find a thread on here that had year differences, as well as any options/years/parts to avoid? Budget isn't really an issue - I want a nice car. Is there a thread like this somewhere? If not, can someone outline major differences year to year? IE... differences in electronics (carplay etc), if one year has a different trans, turbo issues, etc etc etc...

    Leaning towards auto gearbox. I like manuals, but I also REALLY like how fast the new autos shift.

    Looking at either M3's or S4's.

Nothing major as far as any mechanical reasons but it has the updated lighting, interior, and technology bits (if I remember correctly) Again personally, I would get the manual gearbox just because it's probably one of the last few generations of cars you will ever be able to buy in the U.S that offers one.. also I'm a big fan and prefer it over the DSG in my B8.5 S4. I'm between a 2018 RS3 or a F8x M4/3. The biggest factor with me right now is that I live in Ohio where it snows. IDK if I want to drive my (after some mods) 500 horsepower RWD M car in the snow to work everyday in the winter... but hey, YOLO or whatever. I'll always have my 'ol M3
    E46 M3 : Steel grey/6speed. BSpec tune. 19" Anthracite Apex Arc 8's (profile 3). Ground Control Coilovers. Euro headers, Custom section 1, Grouppe M section 3. E60 sort shifter. 19x9.5 ET22 on 245s in the front 19x10.5 ET22 on 275s in the rear


    B8.5 S4 : 2013 Moonlight blue/DSG. KW Coilovers. Luft Technic Intake. EPL Stage 2 ECU/TCU tune. EPL single supercharger pulley.
