Just purchased 2010 650i with 170k
I am in the process of pulling the engine to replace rear main seal, back cover about the rear main seal, upgrade the water wit URO solution, valve seals, plugs, value cover gasket, gasket behind the alternator, upper timing cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and lots of O-rings. Is there anything else I should focus on while the engine is out?

Congrats Pietern, sounds like a good plan! When installing the new OE-quality URO Parts EPDM elastomer seal in the front of the engine, be sure the bevel on the inner diameter of the seal points toward the back of the engine, so it's easy to slide in the pipe. Sometimes guys put the seal in backwards, and then the pipe catches on the edge of the seal and pulls it out of its groove.

All parts are now in hand, I will start working on water pipe tonight. Tomorrow will be plugs, valve cover gaskets, upper timing cover gaskets, o-ring vanos: Monday - rear main seal and rear engine cover, and gasket behind alternator. Tuesday oil pan gasket. Should be ready to install next weekend.

So far I've replaced valve cover gaskets, plugs, water pipe, valley pan, alternator bracket gasket, a few o-rings, and rear cover above main seal. I have new rear main seal to install, but seal currently installed looks to be in good condition, wondering if to skip it.

Old engine was removed, will have to swap engine mounts, oil cooler lines, and exhaust manifold before installing replacement engine.
Not sure how hard it is to remove engine harness, would like to wire engine before installing it, this would such a time saver. I'm hoping to get this installed this coming week, I had forgotten about Mother's day on Sunday.
