My 2011 740i starts without keyfob present

My keyfob does not work, will not lock or unlock. I replaced the battery still nothing. What is strange is I am able to start my car without having the keyfob on me or in car. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do if anything before take to the dealer. Thanks

You didn’t inadvertently swallow a fob, did you? /s

When the car starts without the fob being present so all function, lights, etc., work as normal?

The battery works the locking system the ews chip in the key says hello to the car allowing the car to start. Are you positive about all this. Comfort access key means you just have the key in your pocket, try putting your key really far away from the car and see if it starts or there is a key already in the car some where.
