Removal of an emoticon from bimmerforums

I believe it's time to have "smiliecap" removed from the available emoticons from Bimmerforums. I believe it is racially insensitive.

The emoticon of a bowing Asian yellow emoticon reinforces a harmful stereotype of Asian obedience. Furthermore, the emoticon is wearing a stereotypical rice hat (also known as a coolie hat or an Asian farmer's hat) and has horizontal lines for eyes, which evidently is the artistically-stylized version of Asian eyes.

In closing, it's 2021. I would prefer for Bimmerforums to change with the times and be a more welcoming space. Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion.

Does it really offend you? Shouldn't this be an off topic thread?

There are a couple in there that are "edgy" by someone's standards not sure why u wish to dictate speech. Heres another one

    Should we cancel that one?

There are some tasteless emoticons for sure.

However, none of them are racist.

pityfool is obviously a tribute to Mr. T.

A moderator informed me that this is actually on-topic and that I should contact Kevlar. As a result, my thread in Off-Topic was closed.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Has anyone used the emoticon in a harassing or rude way to anyone?

Does it have to in order to be considered offensive? I don't think so. There are plenty of patently racist emoticons out there on the internet and thankfully they're not here on Bimmerforums.
