Angry F34 Turn signal switch problem

    Hi everyone
I've recently bought a 2014 F34. It's perfect, but has 2 minor issue. One is that my tyre pressure system is failing to reset at 49%, but that's fine, I can live with that.
What's more important is that my turn signal switch is not working properly. Everything works fine for the "lesser" turn signal which just blinks 3 times and that's it. However, when I try to press it harder to get the normal turn signal effect, it just blinks one time and goes back to off position. Any ideas how can I try to fix it?
I've been trying to search for something like this online, but most turn signal problems are with them not working or not turning off after the turn, and mine is working but not as expected.
    Cheers!

    Welcome to the Forum!

Does it do the single blink for both sides or only when you are trying to use the left turn signal? You should feel a little resistance before it will go into the normal blink operation, and then the stalk will return back to the center.

I works the same for both sides. Single blink and that's it. I would say that I feel exactly the same resistance as in other BMW. The only difference is that the turn signal is not staying on for longer than one blink :<

IIRC, the LCM aka Light Control Module controls the blinkers, and the steering angle sensor is what turns them off. There maybe a fault in either one, so you will need to connect to the car using ISTA+ or a similar diagnostic software.

Okay so this is the list of error codes that are present in the car right now:

Is there anything I could do next? The mechanic recommended replacing the whole steering column cluster which will cost me about 1000 USD (I'm in europe)

He also have no idea what's going on with tyre pressure monitoring ....

Replace the SZL with the correct one for your car. Currently it is a wrong one.

You can also put in a second hand one if you find the correct one.

Wish your car a Happy Birthday, as it was made this month 7 years ago!

First I would start with clearing all the codes, and then see what comes back as those tend to be the real ones. Also any time I see "Wrong Version" could be a module that wasn't properly programmed.

Next for the sensor, I see them typically last around 7 years, so they maybe all dead as the batteries have given out. Or you could have aftermarket rims with incorrect sensors, I am sure the flat tire light is on.

Lastly if you do need to get another cluster, it's best to find a used one as they are cheaper and get it coded into your vehicle.

I will buy as much fuel as possible to celebrate it's birthday
My mechanic proposed to "recode" the whole vehicle as he is thinking that may fix some issues. Do you think it's worth trying? It's like 120 USD.
Used one would be great, they are like 25 USD so I can buy 10 of them and still have profit. Thanks for that!

Can you tell me what's the difference between the one that I've got and the one that I need? Or the part number that I need to look for? I don't quite understand this table you've sent.

I've replaced the module for a new one. I've not coded it, but everything works, despite the turn signals. The problem remains - harder turn signals are being turned off immediately after turning them on. Do you have any idea how can I investigate that?

If you have a Windows laptop and an enet cable, I can code it for you remotely if I can find a good moment.

I don't have the cable but I can order one. I got the old windows laptop so that's not a problem. That would be awesome as I kinda not trust the local "coders".
