Hello, my convertible has a Dinan package including suspension. It has the best ride control I've ever experienced.
Any suggestions on a compatible product for a sedan that needs suspension upgrade?
Bilstein HD shocks and struts with OEM springs, or if you want to lower the car a bit, H and R lowering springs, paired with Bilstein Sport shocks and struts. HD's and Sports are valved the same. I have option number 1 on a Z3 and a 318ti. Love the ride. I assume that your 328i is an E36. John
You can get H&R Sport springs and Koni or Bilstein shocks. The Koni Yellow shocks and struts are adjustable, and the springs are 1.5 inches shorter in the front and an inch shorter in the back. The ride quality is still suitable for daily driving, but the body roll is near zero.
The Bilstein shock/strut package is non-adjustable, whereas the Koni package is adjustable. The Koni struts come with a handy tool that lets you adjust the front struts from the engine bay so you can tinker with them whenever you want. The rear shocks must be disconnected at the bottom, then compressed and then the body is turned to change the valve settings. I never changed the shocks/struts on my car, I set all of the Konis to the softest setting and it was very nice. I had the Style 22 wheel package with 225/45x17s, and the car drove like a roller skate.
Thanks for your input. How are either Koni or Bilstein with eibach springs?
I have Bilstein HD struts and shocks on my 328i. I kept original springs since they work. I do think the front could be a bit lower; but didn't have budget to replace springs at the time. The struts and shocks were installed about 10 years ago and are still going strong. I installed the strut reinforcement plates at the time. Rear shock mounts were Meyle HD but failed/broke a few years ago. I believe the rear shock mounts are now ones from JT Design.
Yes, e36
