    Oil Filter Housing Identification

Can anyone help me in identifying what engine this oil filter housing is from. The only part numbers I could see are E1 OF1/2 1404207 and 8716219

Attaching a picture to this post would be the best way to identify a part rather than a part number which often don't match up with anything.

Sorry I'm not computer savvy enough to post a picture on here. Mainly I was trying to figure out if it was an E36 Euro oil housing or a US housing. I'm thinking the Euro ones have the the thermostat in them and the US one does not. Mine does not have a thermostat. But I can see where one would be held in by a ring of some sort.

Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks, but apparently it takes more kibble.... The links you gave don't work.

A word on part numbers, in many cases those are mold marks, that sort of thing. Have you used www.realoem.com to see what the oil filter housing you should expect to find for your engine?

Yeah, pics don't work unfortunately. But as far as I know regardless of Euro or US, all S5x motors come with the oil cooler ports. The 325i (M50) filter housing uses a metal/ally lid, and the 328i (M52) motor uses a plastic lid and neither of them have oil cooler ports. Hope that helps with the lack of pics.
