2011 E92 w/ 19” wheels — down size?

My ‘11 335i coupé has option 230 Star Spoke 19” wheels. Can I safely downsize to 18” wheels? I don’t care for the hard ride on 19” wheels or the look of the stock silver wheel on my black car. I’ll go w/ staggered set to get wider rears. What you think?

This is an 18 from the E9x cars. I'm not sure that the ride quality you object to comes from the wheels though. You can browse through the link to see what the wheel packages are.
