Shifter light on in park switch off

My ligth is on at shifter when in park and the key not in the switch what is it.qnd how can I fix it my

When you shut the car and locked it it takes about 40 mins to go sleep, if the p light is on all the time, then something probably is keeping the car awake and could kill the battery or there is something wrong with the shifter, either way somebody needs to test the car for an electrical draw when the car is off
