    2005 330 Ci - good value?

Hey folks, hoping to get some input on a 2005 330Ci 6 speed with 94k miles. Appears to be well optioned, other than nav. 2 owners, no accidents. Typical wear inside and out. Dealer in CT asking $10,800, and is rather firm given the conditioning (dentless repair, refinishing wheels, interior detail) and maintenance (oil, filters, ‘vanos line’ (but not gaskets?), and p/s line) - I know I’m paying a premium for the miles and convertible, but it hasn’t had any major service done, so I would need to do VANOS, plugs, and water pump very soon. I would appreciate your thoughts - I know value is objective - the car is clean, but I think at least $1k too high, given the year and preventative maintenance needed. Thanks!

Way too much for the current market.

Here's a nicer 2005 E46 ZHP Cabriolet with fewer miles that you could probably get for $8500. It's been listed for weeks now.

I agree that’s nicer, but wrong coast. Thanks for the replies!

Cost to ship would be less than $2000.

Point of reference, I bought my “FL car” a year and a half ago. 89K, very clean, clean CarFax, 2001 330Ci slick top, 5M. I paid $5K.

I doubt the market has doubled since then, even given the convertible.

The E46 I referenced is 4 years newer than yours, a few less miles, and a ZHP with a drop-top. And although it's not my colors of choice, some really like triple black. IMHO, it's worth $8500 every day of the week. Perhaps even a bit more.

For reference 5 years ago I bought a 1-owner mint inside & out 2005 330xi 84k miles all dealer maintenance records and #1 Homelink button worn off from the lady who owned it opening and closing the garage every day for the 10 years she owned it. Paid $9k with all service done, new Continental Pro Contacts & alignment from the dealer, new BMW brakes front & rear, etc. And that was a pretty high price for it back then. I'd pay $6k MAX for the one you're looking at. If you want to do complete maintenance on it, you're talking more like $3k in parts all said and done. Don't forget about a suspension refresh, new shocks & springs, full cooling system, full intake tract & DISA, VANOS rebuild, etc.
