Hello, I have a problem with my E46. I have power mirrors with memory. My seat and my driver's mirror return to position correctly, but my right mirror returns wherever it wants to.
Clicking memory button again doesn't help, the mirrors don't move. Can someone help me track down the issue?

Can you properly adjust the mirrors with the mirror adjustment knob?

There’s a seat memory module in the drivers seat. I believe it is also the window memory. I’m wondering if that module is bad.

I connected my e46 to INPA and found an error that says mirror potentiometer is bad, so that is probably my issue.

That would be the switch, and that's much cheaper than a seat module.

How can it be a switch issue when only the right mirror is not returning with memory button? Left one returns just as expected. I assume there is some dust in the potentiometer and it can't read its value correctly. Or maybe some cables are broken, also the connector could get some corrosion since its not water proof like the heater connector.

Haven't gotten around to fixing mine but I have the same condition, except it's the driver side mirror. When adjusting with the switch and directional pad, both mirrors work perfectly. When using the memory buttons to switch to a saved seat&mirror position, only the driver side mirror has an issue and goes out of whack, while the passenger mirror and seat always change position properly. Interested to hear if you solve yours.

What might work is to just pull the battery and allow the modules to discharge. This is doing a soft reboot on it, and there could be something getting stuck in the buffer.
