When i went and measured that seal, i finally realized my mistake. Pretty stupid of me not to measure before hand to see how far in the seal needs to go. Whats worse is i did it twice! Oh well, learning lession. Atleast it doesnt leak now so thats awesome.

At this point i just need to dial in my caster (shooting for 7 degrees) and figure out the abs issues im having. Had a lockup on an 80mph turn that sent the car into a 180, not fun. Had no confidence in braking and it really killed my times!

These E36s and the random ABS issues, recurring theme!

Its quite frustrating. Anyone happen to have a list of every single component? I have like 2 weeks to get this figured out.

The ABS system, or braking system at large.
The E36 ABS system doesn't have many components. From memory:

    - ABS controller
    - ABS pump/solenoids
    - Pedal travel sensor
    - 2 relays
    - 4 speed sensors
    - warning light
    - associated wiring, connectors, hoses, lines.

    I thinks that's about it.

So, exactly what's the current problem?
One thing these systems are picky about, is the location of the tip of the travel sensor (eg, sensor reading vs when wheels lock). New sensors come with various length end-tips, to get it right.

As of now i have zero abs lights, but i have no abs at all. I can lock em up and the pump does nothing.

My booster has a green sticker on it so ive been using the green tip.

Changed gears just a little, a deal for a white 1995 M3 that was already built for TT5 came up for sale and it was too good of a deal to pass up on. Full aero, 100k miles, roll bar and overall in great condition with a ton of money poured into it. Going to transfer all of my goodies over and sell this car. Hopefully the new to me M3 has working ABS!

So after some thought, i decided to stick with the original chassis and go ahead and add the mk60 swap. I bought the 3DM harness and i just bought another e46 m3 for partout so ill have everything needed to do the swap. Does anyone have a good write up???

I already bought the other M3 so it will be up for sale soon!

For the lines, would it be easier to take the lines from the e46 and transfer them over to the 36?

You should probably change the title of this thread.

Also purchased a set of vorshlag camber caster plates. I was afraid i wouldnt have any room in the strut tower for adjustment, but i think it should work just fine. Once i get this abs dialed in and my caster set, all thats left is to drive!

Had another private day last week and was able to get the car out on a wet track. I got a set of Hoosier H20s for super cheap, and they were fantastic in the rain. What a difference a rain tire makes!

I also started a log book for fluids and a setup book so i can go through previous setups to quickly dial the car in for different tracks. Pretty excited to see how she does in competition. Next track day is on the 11th, i should have caster set by then and ill just have to drive around the abs non sense.
