83' 320is

I just purchased a 83 320 with an "s" package the guy said and i was wondering if it had an lsd. Thanks

hey, welcome to bimmerforums

the 's' (sport) package 320is does come standard w/ a LSD....usually there is a 'S' stamped somewhere on the differential to denote that it is indeed an LSD.
and if the clutch packs are still in working condition, you can jack up the rear of the car & spin one of the rear tires (the other rear tire should also spin in the same direction).

the car should also have a rear sway bar, recaro seats, a front spoiler, a 3-spoke steering wheel

it should. Assuming the previous ownder didn't mess with it. Jack up the rear end of the car spin one drive wheel... if the other spins in the same direction then yes you do have an LSD. If the wheel spins in the opposite direction then you've got an open diff, and someone took the LSD out and sold it or put it in their 2002.

Thats sounds way chill. But actually i was moving my car forward in my driveway the other day getting it closer to my garage and it had a real ruff start but it managed to start up and i got it in front of my garage but when i went to move it back it wouldnt start.

Sounds like it could be a battery issue. If it was ruff to start that first time and you didn't run it long enough to recharge the battery, it might not have enough juice to fire it up again....

Time for a jump start at least....

the same thing happened to me when i got my "82 320iS. the battery in the car was like 5 years old when i got it and it went dead in a few days, partly because i was running the radio while i was cleaning it up. that was my stupidity for the most part. post some pics of it when you get a chance. im new here to so ill try to get some of mine up.
