I purchased this used in Aug 2020 with 51k miles on it. We don't drive it much as we both are now working from home.
About a month ago Wifey was driving it and "ABS message/Brake system drive moderately" message came on and the car went into limp mode. Barely drivable, surging and sounded like it was mis-firing.
Got it home and began researching the issue. It has happened several more times since then and seems to clear up for 100 miles or so.
I ordered a Foxwell NT510 and pulled the codes once it arrived.
The primary code looks to be 480A69 (DSC unit: internal, brake pressure sensor, tandem brake master cylinder, test pulse)
When you press help on the trouble code it say the following:
Fault Description: Internal brake pressure sensor test
It says if the fault is permanent and/or has occurred several times: Replace the DSC unit.
There are several other codes that were generated but none of them said to replace anything.
I'm just reaching out for some advice/guidance before taking it to a shop.
This was a problem with earlier models such as the E38 and E39 - the DSC module (which is bolted to the valve/pump unit under the bonnet) would fail due to the heat from the engine. This was such a big problem that companies offered a service to repair the module (which can be simply removed from the valve body). Whether this is pertinent to the 2013 models I can't say for sure - but it certainly sounds like the same problem. More details here:

Thank you, Timm for helping me.
Wound up taking it to an indy shop and they say I need to replace my DSC module = $5700.00
Seems High, so I called the BMW dealer and they quoted my $5400.00.
Either way, it appears this is going to be an expensive repair.
There are many companies that repair the modules - that is usually the best way forward, around £200 or so.
