Great input, thanks for posting. Keep up the constructive information on this.

I regret not pulling a trigger on a 8HP75 that was on Ebay for $450 shipped about a month ago. Already sold and it seems like someone is buying them up pretty quickly as most 8HP inventory that was sitting around for months on Ebay is gone.

On a side note I am going to be starting to work on an adapter to run the ford 6r80 and 10r80 transmissions. These are the transmissions that they use in the newer mustangs and f150’s. There is already a controller for the 6r80 and one in the works for the 10 speed. These are cheap and plentiful and they already have proven parts for these transmissions to handle 1400 whp.

They also have good torque converters for the domestic transmissions also. I don’t know what exists for the bmw zf’s. As someone that already runs an auto I can tell you the torque converter is the most important piece of the puzzle.
Pls notify me with any progress on your 10r80 controller!! I have been waiting for progress from USShift but there is none. I would love to throw a 10r80 behind my turbo 2v in my thunderbird.

The price of all transmissions has basically doubled in the past year. DCTs and 8HPs are pushing $2K-$2500 now. I hugely regret not jumping on that $750 8HP75 on Ebay now.

pins 85/86 on the MS41 (assuming you're using MS41) are CAN signals which the stock ECU communicates with the TCU with.

It may be possible to use them to perform ignition cut for shifting, as discussed earlier.

Note that this is just a big MIGHT, I actually don't have expertise in this matter.

I'm not making any controller. I would like to make an adapter plate to bolt a 6r80 or 10r80 to a bmw motor and then use the US Shift controller. Now that more people are working on the 8hp70 swap that idea looks to me like its becoming obsolete.

Any more info related to the 8HP swap recently?
HTG seems to have some very nice autotuning functions as of late
