hey guys, I'm a noob here, hoping to get some help, tips and advice, heres what I got
2003 Z4 2.5 10 speaker DSP audio system
long story short, I have no audio coming out of speakers, I've decided to go aftermarket
now I've done some research and I'm well aware of the level difficulty
with that being said, I have a headunit, harness, installation kit, and antenna adapter
looking to get some help/advice on the amp and speaker setup
Amplifier likely fried/water damaged.
Not possible to replace BMW business radio with replacement radio aka “off the shelf” non BNW head unit in a Carver DSP radio set up.
Only a complete gut of amp/radio/speakers and replace would allow a non BMW head unit to be installed.
Replacement BMW amps are available new or used(more difficult to source).
It’s cheaper to replace the silly expensive amp than try a total replacement.
Do your research.....

yes....this I know......*sigh*
I've been searching the forums on the topic, I am preparing my self for the complete audio overhaul.
hoping to gather whatever tips and/or advice I can before getting started
Im aware that factory head units do not work with aftermarket amp. I am doing my research, not going into this completely blind, met with a professional installer today that had worked on this setup before. Was able to get a lot of information, also able to obtain factory speaker specifications and factory amp pin diagram. Going to double check my math, as far as amp rating and speaker impedance goes before I move forward. I will be sure to update the thread
There isn't a ton of info about this as most folks don't want to take on such a huge project. Yours will be one of a very few who attempted it.
