Hello,
I'm getting 9 fault codes for the driver side footwell/FRM module -
9CBC - short-circuit at front door contact
9CC0 - Comm w/ step motor ctrller on right disrupted
9CC4 - Comm w/ mirror pass side disrupted
A8Ab, A8AE, A8AF, 932E, A8C6- all related to head-lights hi/lo beam, etc.
I've found that in 2018 (before I bought this vehicle), BMW extended FRM warranty to 10y/156k. I've asked BMW to send me the exact Service Info Bulletin so I can show it to the dealer when I take the vehicle in. Anyone here replaced their FRM module recently, or have any other thoughts? Thanks.
The frm module was pretty delicate we had then go out after changing the battery, yes they did extend the warranty on them if the warranty applies to your car when the dealer looks up the history on the car with the vin the extended warranty info will be printed on it, if not it does not apply to your car you can probably find it on line. Also they the dealer would only warranty it after diagnosing that is is the cause of the problem they just won’t replace it for no reason.
Codes or not, what doesn't work on it?
Are those all current codes or are they stored codes?
The FRM warranty is for the data corruption issue that causes lights and windows to stop working, and no communication with diag.
The FRM communicating and giving you codes means that its working from that standpoint.
